Adventures in learning to walk...

Wednesday, April 11, 2007

Aunt Nora leaves tomorrow to go back to PEI. She is ready to see her own grandkids, Tanner and Peyton. I had lots of fun playing with you, Aunt Nora, and I can't wait to see you soon! You are welcome anytime.

My "Uncle" Chris (no relation to Nora) came to visit too. He's going on a fishing trip with daddy this weekend to Port Mansfield. He's a blast! We laughed and laughed.

Well, I finally got to wear my "Easter" outfit because it warmed up (please ignore the Cheerios goo on my shirt). Mama says here is my Easter picture and 9 month old picture, all wrapped up in one. I still have a slight case of "Spider Man hands", but nothing like the old days. I am "talking" more (if only people could understand what I'm saying); I am crawling like a mad man; I stand and balance, and when I'm tired, I fall down; I put everything in my mouth, including dirt and flowers; I love playing with balls and batting my toys away from me so that I can crawl to get them; I am eating more and more, including pasta, whole rice pieces, and am still a huge fan of the sweet potato puffs. Life is good.

The (Chicago) Easter Bunny also left me an easter bag in Katy. Who says I'm spoiled?

Mac and I shared my toys. Look at all this loot! I can't decide what to play with first.

Mama posted this picture to show you all the bruises on my head from running into things. She's worried that people will think she beats me, and is hoping that the bruises will heal before I go to the pediatrician for my 9 month appointment next week.
Yes, I am officially nine months old now! "Official" pictures coming soon...

My excellent Aunt Nora (she says "Great Aunt" makes her feel old, and she's the baby-girl of the family, so she can't be old) came all the way from Prince Edward Island to visit. That's where Ga is from. Aunt Nora has two grandbabies, so she knows how to give me some serious love. I can't wait to go to PEI to play with Tanner and Peyton in a couple years.

We went to Crystal Beach this weekend to celebrate Easter with Ga, Pawpaw, and Aunt Nora. Daddy and I picked up Mama from work on Friday and hit the road.
We drove all the way to Galveston, and got out on the ferry so that we could get a little sun.
Mama and I watched those crazy seagulls fly all over the place. Luckily, there were no "incidents."

Here we are, arriving at the beach. Hey Ga! Too bad this was pretty much the end of the sun for the weekend. Texas had a (maybe) record cold, rainy weekend for Easter. I brought all my beach toys and my special swimming diapers, and never even set foot in the sand. Maybe next time...

Instead of going to the beach, I climbed up the stairs, and down the stairs, and up the stairs, and down the stairs, and up...you get the idea. What fun, for me.

The Easter Bunny found me all the way at the beach! Yeah, me! He brought me a book that plays "Here Comes Peter Cottontail." Ga and Mama sure sound funny singing it all the time. He also brought me Astros socks so that I have all the right gear to cheer on my favorite team - maybe they'll win, someday.

For those who've asked, the garden is growing, by leaps and bounds. The beans are up, and we're starting to take suggestions on what to do with all those beans - spicy beans for bloody marys, vinegar beans with red onion, plain old steamed green beans. Oh the beans. You can also see that our lemon tree has lots of flowers, so we're hoping for a bumper crop of the yellow goodness. Green onions in the miracle box, and lots of radishes too. Oh the veggies we'll eat.
